I Get To Take a Road Trip Pretty Soon

When I looked at the calendar this morning, I realized that the end of this semester for university is right around the corner. Since the end of this semester will mark the end of my first year in university, I am actually quite excited about having the summer off so that I can recharge my batteries and be ready to kick off my second year in the fall. Although I have been seen them over the course of the last year, I will be spending my summer living with my parents. The great thing about going home to live with your parents for the summer is that you get to slack off and have them do laundry for you once again (instead of worrying about it yourself). I may have given you the idea that my university semester is completely over, but as you may have guessed, I do have all of my final examinations to take. Even though I was very worried about my final examinations last semester (for the record, I ended up doing well), I am really confident that I’m not going to encounter any problems during the ones at the end of this semester.

As an incentive to finish the semester on a strong note, I have made plans for something that will happen once summer gets started. In conjunction with my buddy, after moving back to London, the two of us will be picking up a Gatwick car hire that is reserved in my name. The reason we are getting a Gatwick car hire is so we can enjoy taking a road trip for a full week. Although it has been a year since we have seen each other, the two of us have been friends since we were little kids, so I know we are going to have a great road trip together.

I’m Honestly Not Worried About This New Flu Issue

Despite the fact that there have been plenty of other significant events taking place throughout the world during the last couple of weeks, it seems like the news media wants to focus all of their attention on the H1N1 flu virus. Once people started to realize that swine flu was killing people throughout Mexico, they started to get much more worried about the potential implications of this virus spreading. Although it is true that the H1N1 virus has continued its spread across the world, it is not causing the same level of fatalities that it initially did in Mexico. I wanted to highlight this fact about the H1N1 virus, because for reasons unknown to me, people continue to be extremely worried about this virus continuing to spread around the world. In spite of the fact that I think this continued worrying is unjustified, countries throughout the world are continuing to respond in a fairly serious manner.

Although I think it is safe to assume that people are going to continue to worry about swine flu for the foreseeable future, I’m not letting it get in the way of my summer plans. Because I have taken a trip during the last couple of summers, I already have plans to spend a week and a half in Gatwick with one of my good friends. Since I have already taken care of booking my hotel room, Gatwick car hire and flight, it would take something much more serious than this current swine flu issue for me to cancel my whole trip. However, because people have a short attention span, I’m guessing that they will have already calmed down by the time my trip actually gets here and I won’t even have to worry about canceling it!
